SPPS is partnering with Pax Christi Catholic Church in collecting used shoes for Third World countries. If you have any shoes, any size that still have a little life left in them, would you consider donating them to this great cause? It would be appreciated if you could put them in gallon size zip lock bags before bringing them to school. This helps keep the pairs together (and the “used shoe smell” a bit contained.) Shoes can be brought into both campuses. ECC families, they can use little shoes, too! There is a poster at each campus that lists the names of 25 countries where the shoes will go. Our middle school House of Pax Christi will assist in the collection and packaging, along with Father Nick Pagano. The collection goes through OCTOBER. Please be as generous as you can.
The Duke University Talent Identification Program 7th Grade Talent Search enables the students identified to participate in an above-level testing experience by taking either the ACT or SAT as a 7th grader as well as receive recognition and access to other educational resources and opportunities. In order to be eligible for the Talent Search, a student must score at or above the 95th national percentile on an accepted subtest or total battery/composite of a grade-level standardized achievement test or score a standard score at or above 125 or 95th national percentile on the full scale or composite score of an ability test. Sts. Peter & Paul Regional Catholic School had 43% of the 7th graders qualify for the Duke TIP Talent Search in the 2017-2018 school year!
