Beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, our Diocese has approved one built in snow day in our school calendar that we will NOT have to make up. After the first snow day, we have the option to use the next three snow days as non – traditional instructional (NTI) days. In order to maintain sequential, cohesive instruction when students are out of school for a snow day, SPPS students will be able to review already taught concepts that keep material fresh in their minds and minimize instructional disruptions. Students will work on assignments that teachers post in Google Classroom the morning of the snow day. All students and guardians will have access to the assignments posted in Google Classroom. Teachers will be available from 9:00am – 12:00pm via email to answer any assignment related questions students may have. All assignments are to be completed and submitted online within 24 hours of the assignment being posted, unless otherwise noted by the assigning teacher. Any student who doesn’t have access to a computer/phone/tablet can complete the assignment in the library when they return to school between 7:25 – 7:50 am. Assignments not turned in will be considered as late or missing assignments and will need to be made up and turned in to receive credit. As with anything new that we implement, I am sure we will have some bumps along the way so be patient and know that we will work out all the kinks as quickly as possible!
