Visitors witness daily the joyful shrieks of our teachers who are seeing just amazing growth from students in the elementary division of our school. Whether the student starts with us as a kindergartner or as a 5th grader, he/she will experience a dedicated, creative staff that will meet your child where they are academically and help them reach their full potential.
In each classroom, the students will be taught religion, reading and literacy subjects, along with math, science, social studies and Spanish. They will go out to enrichment classrooms taught by our specialists in visual art, music, technology, drama, band, and physical education. Rounding out our resource staff for the elementary division are math and literacy specialists who work with remedial and identified gifted /talented students, along with a child guidance specialist.
Learning continues after school with jump rope team, FAME private music lessons, theater performances, academic team, Battle of the Books, High Marks, a tutoring/homework class and more.
When you are walking down our hallways, you might hear chants and see very active learning. That’s because our teachers follow Ron Clark Academy, a philosophy of behavior expectations with our Essential 33 rules.
Our full community of students, K-8, come together weekly for Mass at St. Paul Church and are actively involved serving the needs of others throughout the year.
Our downtown location affords the elementary students many walking opportunities. You will see classes walking to the public library, Lexington Children’s Theater, and The Opera House. If it’s a little too far to walk, our bus is always ready to take students on another learning opportunity.
From the first moment your child is individually greeted in car line, to telling them goodbye at 3:00, SPPS will educate and nurture your elementary child to be the person God created them to be!
